How to Apply
Applying to MSI is Easy
The Milby STEM Institute (MSI) is open to all students residing in HISD. Transportation may be provided to students who meet qualifications.
To apply for admission:
Submit your School Choice application by completing the application.
Notification will be sent out to parents informing them of lottery results.
When notification email is received, please follow the steps:
- Log in to your account, go to "TAKE ACTION" and follow the steps.
- Accept or Decline seat
- If accepted seat, upload documents required.
If student is coming from outside the district, please make sure to finalize enrollment by completing registration in the Magnet Office. The following documents are required:
- Proof of HISD residency (apartment rent receipt, utility bill receipt, or statement of residence)
- Proof of address (utility bill)
- Most recent report card/transcript if earned HS credits
- Parent/Guardian ID
- Shot records
- Birth Certificate
Eligibility Requirements:
No matrix at time time for Magnet Program.
Note: This may change for next school year's application (SY 2025-2026).
